Walking away from the park we stepped into the basement of the supermarket of Pripyat where we found tons of gas masks again. They looked more used than the ones we found in the school.
Looking at those lying there on the floor, reminded me how quick it can go - just one incident could take us down to the ground of existence again.
Going upstairs, we really needed to watch out for police men, because all those buildings are endangered to collapse and you are not allowed to enter actually...
So we were very lucky to not have been caught walking out of one into the central square of Pripyat.
What reminded me of a supermarket were the shelves only, because everything else was stolen.
We found a metal plate outside which seemed inconspicuous, but was highly radioactive on the downside. Seems like someone had forgotten to clean it.
Leaving the central square, we passed a few big apartment buildings with the Soviet sign on their roofs. The one on the picture is the first one I actually saw on the tour.
After the Prripyat "Sky scrapers" our next stop was the post office of Pripyat. A beautiful painting is luckily still visible on the wall inside.
It depicts the soviet citizen enjoying peace, presented by the image of the doves and on the right it also shows the superiority of the Soviet people as the first people in space.
